Down in the East Village is a rather unassuming place that transcends you to another world… one of mystery, underwater creatures and the world of comic books?
Located at 50 Avenue B in Manhattan, Lovecraft is a rad restaurant with a buzzing bar paying homage to it’s namesake, American author, H.P. Lovecraft. This 1920’s writer known for his love of steamboats, Cthulhu (an underwater creature) and adventure, lived just around the block from this now vibin’ venue.
As you enter this East Village eatery you automatically feel the author’s influence – industrial décor, exposed pipes and wood beams and even a giant Cthulhu fixed to the ceiling. This dining den offers a spectacular menu from world famous chef, Chis Coleman, great happy hour specials including a cocktail of the month and 32 different infusions that can be served alone, with a mixer or champagne – Don’t miss the bacon and maple infused bourbon (It’s to die for!).
And as if that wasn’t enough to keep you coming back for more, the Lovecraft team hosts extravagant events like SteamPunk parties and comic book/superhero soirees! They’ve also been known for hosting live comedy shows, band performances and karaoke nights in their super spacious basement bunker.
So, the next time you’re wanting to explore one of New York City’s more unconventional dining venues, take a walk on the wild side and visit Lovecraft (you can even join them for Sunday brunch now… Yes, please!)
