Bronde Girl

hairSince it’s been a while I’ve done anything to my hair and Summer is quickly coming to an end, I decided it was time to add a little life back into to my locks.

I’ve been really into this “Bronde” look gracing the covers of magazines, the big screen and the concrete runway (aka the streets of New York), so I decided it was time to join in on the fun! If you’re wondering what “Bronde” is just think of some of our favorite famous females – J. Lo, Gisselle Bundchen, Blake Lively and the Big Apple’s own sophisticated socialite, Olivia Palermo. Basically, we marry the first part “Br” (from Brunette) and the last part “onde” (from Blonde) and we get the bold and beautiful “Bronde”. It’s part sexy and sultry, part sophisticated. And if you ask me, it’s all things perfect!

Excited to liven up my look, I consulted the very talented and top-rated, Michele Fury of Roy Teeluck Salon on Fifth Avenue. Before going to Michele, I sent her pictures of exactly what it is I was looking for. She assured me she could match my mission, and sure enough, she did!

Upon arrival, I entered a gorgeous, clean and spacious salon on the third floor of a building on 57th ave. The staff was friendly, attentive and professional. Before I knew it, I was in a gown and Michele was ready to go to work, but not before she sent me to Shab – an amazing hairstylist with so much talent. Shab sat me in the chair and gave me one of the best (and much needed) haircuts I’ve ever had. At first I was petrified, as she kept chopping and snipping, but in the end, I’m so happy with the style, body and shape she gave my hair!

After this snip session, I was back with Michele. We all know coloring takes forever, but in this case, Michele’s expertise made it all worthwhile. Using the Bayalage method (a French freehand technique developed in the 1970’s basically painting the hair in strategic sections so it appears to be natural highlights) she used Joico Cream Lightner with Olaplex and Joico Break base in Cool/Natural to achieve the look I wanted.

After about a 3 hour overall process, it was time for the final reveal. When my hair was dry and styled the result was nothing short of fabulous. I was ready for an endless summer (and maybe even had a chance at giving J. Lo a run for her money!).

Overall, my experience with Michele, Shab and the rest of the Roy Teeluck team was first class. I love my new hair and will certainly have them on speed dial for all my fierce and fabulous hair needs!
