Netflix and Chill – An Inspiring New York Night at Home

irismovie1“Netflix and Chill” – It’s a common meme being displayed across the internet highlighting the laid back activities Americans engage in on their “down time”. And well, now that the chilly weather has arrived, it sounds like I’ll be partaking in some of this Netflix and Chill as well… at least partially (We all know I can’t sit still for too long, especially when NYC is my playground).

On a nippy night just a few days ago, I decided to put on some sweats, open up my laptop and click on the “Flix”. I was initially going to catch up on my favorite (and only tv I watch) show, Scandal, but when I saw “Iris” pop up on the screen with an image of Iris Apfel, a legendary fashionista in the New York community and beyond, I quickly changed my tune. A Surprise in Central Park

summerstage4When your friend calls you at 5 PM on a Monday at work and tells you about tickets to a free concert in Central Park, and it’s Stevie Wonder, you drop everything you’re doing and go!

That’s what happened yesterday as I was getting to round out my workday. Forever a lover of Stevie Wonder’s music (and live music…especially free), I couldn’t help but be excited. So I dropped everything I was doing and hopped on the train, making my way to Central Park’s Summer Stage just off the 69th street and 5th avenue entrance to the park.
