The official day of Spring may have been weeks ago, but the weather could’ve fooled us all. After months and months of layering, hibernating and cuffing (well, some of us), New Yorkers are feeling “free” to meander about town (notice the number of single people out and about..it’s not a coincidence).

I knew there was a reason why I moved to this city…because there are an endless array of options to explore regardless of what your interests are, and this weekend was no different.
I kicked it off on Friday night with a little jazz sesh and a glass of champagne at the famed Bemelman’s Bar at the Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side (yes, the place the Royals stayed when they were in town). This quaint little spot is named after the beloved author of Madeline children’s books, Ludwig Bemelman (also a long time illustrator for The New Yorker, Vogue and Town and Country). With chocolate tufted benches lining the perimeters of the room and walls adorned with a Central Park themed illustration of rabbits and elephants, this classic New York staple is sure to transcend any of its patrons to a time of pure elegance and grace.
